~{ Drummer & Lead Vocalist }: Mike Jagiello-( "Jags" )

2011 Buffalo Music Awards Nominee For "Best Rockin' Blues Drummer" { Is Definately "one of the best "singing drummers" in the business" !! } ~ ~ { The drums in this picture are the "stage drums" from the "Taste Of Buffalo" } ~ "Jags" got interested in the drums at the age of 13, when his oldest brother Jim took him to a neighbor's house to see the drum set he had, and watched him play. Brother Jim was a musician himself, playing guitar, banjo, and a snare drum, before entering the Marines. This snare drum was a white "wood shelled" Ludwig snare with "calf skin" heads and "cat gut" snares !! The rims were wood as well, and were an inch high ! After that, "Jags" was hooked on playing drums. Mike's brother Jeff , who was 3 and a half years older than Mike picked up the guitar after brother Jim went into the Marines. Jeff & Mike played in a few bands together before Jeff went off to college. "Jags" says, "My brother Jeff and I used to sing at home together, but couldn't afford microphone stands at the time, so we used an old "gooseneck" lamp stand, to which we taped the microphones from our old tape recorder to". "I think I still have that picture somewhere". "Jags" says : "I used to borrow parts of a drum set from a drummer friend of mine and put them together as a "mock kit" in my room". "I always borrowed a cymbal from my friend and somtimes a foot petal I used to use to hit a heavy cardboard box with". "I used to take apart our "Electrolux" vacuum cleaner, and use the metal wand as a cymbal stand by propping it up between the bed mattress and footboard , then putting an old drumstick in the curved end, and placing the cymbal over the tip of the stick, just so I could have a cymbal stand". "Needless to say, I got pretty good with those things and finally after a few months, convinced my father to buy me a set of drums". "My first set was a "Whitehall" blue pearl set , which later I sold off as seperate pieces". After that, he convinced his father to buy him a new set of drums. "Jags" Drum kit is a 1969 Ludwig Classic Champagne Sparkle, Double Bass set his dad bought him brand new when he was 15 years old. One year later "Jags" bought 2 used Avedis Zildjian Cymbals-(20" Ride , & an 18" Crash/Ride from another drummer friend , then a year later an 18" "Hand-hammered" "K"-Zildjian Crash Cymbal , and he "still to this day" plays on that same drum set & cymbals. He's added a 14" Zildjian Hi-hat cymbal set in 1984, and a 16" Avedis Zildjian Thin Crash Cymbal in 1997, and recently in 2011, bought another 16" Zildjian Rock Crash Cymbal he loves the sound of , from his friend and guitarist "Glen Brooks". ~ { "Jags" is one of the "founding" members of "Blues Child" & is extremely versed in Rock , Classic Rock , Funk , Swing , & Rockin' Blues for many years with a number of bands. ~ { Earlier in his career Mike jammed with Local Buffalo Legend & National recording artist "Rick James" , who after only one song , stood up , shook his hand and said to "Jags" : { "Dam man , for a white boy you got some chops"! } also National acts : "Wilmer & The Dukes" & "Steppenwolf" } ~ { Mike also opened for National recording artists "The Guess Who" early in his career. } ~ { "Jags" has done studio "voice over" work in the past, one being a radio commercial for Buffalo's own "Buffalo Blizzard" that aired one full season. ~{"It's been said by many that "Jags" is the "Rich Little" of Voices" !! } ~{ "Jags" also takes alot of pride in doing "voice imitation" of the lead singer in all the bands with a "unique" sound such as : "Jethro Tull" , "Rare Earth" , "Steppenwolf " , "The Doors" , "Cream" , "Grand Funk" , "Bloodrock" , "Deep Purple" , "Chicago" , "Ac/Dc" , "Jimi Hendrix" , "Molly Hatchet" , "Joe Cocker" , "Lynyrd Skynyrd" , "Elvis Presley" , "Beatles" , "Tragically Hip" , "Led Zeppelin" , "Guns n' Roses" , "Billy Idol" , & the list goes on, "giving the audience an "authentic" version of what the song "actually" sounds like & making you feel like your listening to the "original" band performing live" ! } ~ { He's also in the "Guinness Book Of World Records, Twice" by taking part in "Buffalo Big Beat 2008 & 2009", where 150 drummers from Buffalo played the same beat together for over 6 minutes , along with five other cities in the country "simultaneously"! ~{ Sponcered by Paul Musilli, Owner of The Buffalo Drum Outlet & All benefits going to the "Responce To Love Center" ~(a soup kitchen in East Buffalo)~ & "Mr. Holland's Opus"~ national organization providing schools with new band or orchestra instruments). ~ {"Jags" adds drive with "Precision Percussion Work" & A "Powerfull Variety Of Vocals", making "Blues Child" one of Buffalo's Best "Rockin' Blues / Classic Rock" Bands ! }~
