{ "Blues Child" would like to extend a very special thank you to Brandon Brooks for his time and patience in making this site possible, and also to his wonderful wife Jamie for her understanding as well. It's very much appreciated !! }

{ "Blues Child" was "originally" formed when three of the existing members and good friends in the band; Dale Rugg, Mike Jagiello, and Dan Morey, got back together from a previous band they played in many years ago called "Turning Time", and added Mike Kobrin and Rich Smith to form what is now known as "Blues Child"!

Scroll down to check the bio on the band members, and also to check our song list, and future dates !!!

And remember,..adopt a child,..just make it "Blues Child"!!

{ On April 27th. 2008, "Blues Child" recorded a promotional C.D. at "Loft Studios" in Cheektowaga, N.Y. } ~ ~ A special thank you goes out to Sound Engineer Jim Sommers ! ~ ~ "Copies of the C.D. will be for sale for only $8.00 prior to, during intermissions, and after all our shows. ~ ~ In the future we'll be ordering "Blues Child" T-shirts , hats , and other merchandise you can purchase, to help show your support of the band, and be one of many people this year to adopt a child , ...."Blues Child" that is !!! ~ ~ So , ..."Hey everybody, let's have some fun" with Western New York's #1 "most diversified" & "most rockin' " blues band in town , ..... "BLUES CHILD" !!!

"BLUES CHILD": { NOT your "standard" Blues Band } !!!

"BLUES CHILD" is a real "Rockin' " Blues band, with an "explosive" sound that appeals to audiences of all ages ! ~ "Blues Child" mixes the sounds of: Swing, Funk, Rockin' Blues, & some Classic Rock's all time favorites, and some you haven't heard in awhile ! ~ "Blues Child" is sure to "rock the house" & get you up dancing "having a ball" !!!

~ The band is not the same band from when we first started out, it's made some changes for the better , replacing our rhythm player with one of Buffalo's most "experienced" keyboardists, Rich Smith ! "Everyone" in the band is excited with the move , as it has vastly improved the sound making the band "more diversified" & "more exciting" than ever "!!! ~

~ ~ We'll be updating this site frequently as new shows are added ! ~ ~

"BLUES CHILD" Bio :

Dale Rugg-{3rd. from left in picture} : Has been playing in Buffalo's local music scene for over 35 years , and he is also the "founding" member of "Blues Child" and has opened up for Eddy Money in Buffalo's Lafayette Square in 2005 and recorded an original music scene CD, produced by Gary Mallaber(drummer for Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison, and other popular artists). Dale adds his powerful harmonica sounds on such artists as: John Mayal's "Room to move" , Blues Brother's version of "Messin' with the kid" , Molly Hatchet's "Train Train" , & especially on Blues Travaler's "Runaround", "The Hook", & "Crash Burn"! Dale makes use of four saxphones,- Soprano, Alto, Tenor, & Baritone. He uses a harmonizer on his saxaphones on numerous songs which adds that extra full sound of horns !! Dale also plays Flute on Van Morrison's "Moondance", and he'll absolutely "wow you" on Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath" & "Cross Eyed Mary" !! Dale is also an accomplished Clarinet player as you'll see , which we have recently incorporated !

Mike Jagiello-("Jags")-{far left in picture} : Is considered to be one of the best "singing drummers" in the business ! "Jags" is extremely versed in playing classic rock, motown , funk , swing , blues , & rock for over 35 years. Earlier in his career Mike has jammed with Local Buffalo legend & National recording artist Rick James, & also National acts: Wilmer & The Dukes , and Steppenwolf . Mike has also opened for National recording artists 'The Guess Who', earlier in his career. "Jags" also did a "voice over" radio commercial for our home town "Buffalo Blizzard", which aired for quite awhile. He's also been in the studio doing drumming , vocals , or both. He prides himself on doing "voice imitation" on many bands he performs, such as: "Jethro Tull" , "Rare Earth", "B.B.King" , "Ides of March" , "Huey Lewis" , "Colin James" , "Blues Brothers" , "Robert Cray" , "Molly Hatchet" , "Jeff Healy" , "Elvis Presley" , "Delbert McClinton" , "Chicago" , & more !! Mike sounds alot like , or exactly like the original artists !! "Jags" adds drive with his precision percussion work & his powerfull variety of vocals , which makes "Blues Child" one of Buffalo's best !!

Dan Morey-{2nd. from left in picture} : Has been a part of Buffalo's local music scene playing rock, classic rock, and blues for over 35 years. Dan started playing at the ripe old age of 14, and still continues to lay down melodic , soulful , and at times power out thundering bass lines !! Dan's strong four-octave vocal range gives "Blues Child" an open door to many blues or classic rock tunes. He also plays a five string bass, which is very useful in alot of tunes that "
Blues Child" plays. Dan's awesome vocal rendition of Blues Travelers' "Run Around" & "The Hook", coupled with the Blues Brothers' rendition of "Gimme Some Lovin'", and Junior Walker's tune: "Shotgun" , and Eric Clapton's song: "Forever Man", with Buddy Miles's "Them Changes",... just to name a few, gets the crowd up on their feet and to the dance floor every time !! Also , with the "personnel change" we had recently,...Dan-(along with "Jags")-on vocals , "very easily" split up alot of tunes that one of our past members sang, & "continued on without missing a beat"!! Dan does most of the high harmony when other members in "Blues Child" are singing lead.

Adrian Michael Kobrin-("Cobra")-{far right in picture} : A seasoned veteran for over 35 years, has played lead guitar with some of Buffalo's premier bands such as: Junction West, Weekend, & United Sound, which after Mike left, all three made it into the Buffalo Music Hall Of Fame. He has also been on the road numerous times with many National recording artists for a good part of his playing career. He has been in the studio numerous times when touring acts would call him in to lay down some guitar tracks. Mike has made each band he played with that much better ! "The Cobra" brings his superior lead guitar work, coupled with his vocals, to "Blues Child". Mike is definately one of the absolute best lead guitar players you'll find anywhere! Whether he's standing still jammin',.. walking around in the audience with his wireless on,.. standing on a chair or table playing with his teeth,.. or playing leads with the guitar behind his neck,.. Mike is a true professional & showman !! All the members in "Blues Child" are happy to have him !

Rich Smith-("Tigger")-{"not in picture"} : Is the newest member of "Blues Child", and a "welcomed addition"as well ! Rich's availability and timing for looking for a band couldn't have been better for "Blues Child" because it brought about the "changes" we were thinking about doing in the band for quite some time , to fruition !! Rich is also another veteran for over 35 years , and is one of Buffalo's "Premier" keyboardists. "Blues Child" is very happy to have Rich aboard !! Rich is extremely versed in music theory, and can literally play anything you ask him to, whether it's on Piano-(as in the entire intro. of the 'Jethro Tull' song: "Locomotive Breath", & the 'Blues Brothers' version of "Sweet Home Chicago"),...or Organ-(in tunes such as: "Green Onions" by 'Booker T.' , "Get Ready" by 'Rare Earth' , & the 'Blues Brothers' version of "Gimme' Some Lovin'",...or Horn sounds-(in tunes such as : "Vehicle" by 'The Ides Of March' , "Them Changes" by 'Buddy Miles' , "Soul Man" by the 'Blues Brothers' , or "Blues Is My Business" by the 'Groove Hogs' ). Rich also offers an "extra demention", expanding the horizon for the band , making "Blues Child" a strong competitor in being one of Buffalo's "Premier Rockin' Blues Bands" !!!
